What could it mean ...

(3 months) Freya would not cry even when she completely wets her nappy. She can lie for hours in the wet nappy without any complains. What could this indicate about her temperament ...

(4 months) Freya often cries a lot at night just before going to bed. Even if she is picked up, she would not be consoled. She would keep quiet only if she is carried and walked around. Why? What could this indicate about her temperament ...

(4.5 months) Regardless of whether she is laughing or crying, when Freya is carried outdoors, she just becomes totally calm. Not even a single sound from her mouth. She would just stare all around with big eyes. What could this indicate about her temperament ...

(5 months) While playing or having a good time in general, Freya suddenly starts to want mom and starts to cry. She is then consoled only if mom picks her up. What could this indicate about her temperament ...

(5.5 months) When Freya sees anything new, she just wants it. If she lays her hands on it, she will put it in her mouth. One day when we were eating food and she was lying on her bed some distance away, she eyed the food once and then started dragging her body towards the food like a crazed being. You could see the greed in her eyes to lay her hands on the vessels and put it in her mouth. When we restrained her, she fought back with all her strength. All the while her eyes were on the vessels. Finally, she was picked up and put on the back on her bed in between a wall of pillows. That is when her curiosity died, because the object of attraction was no longer in her direct sight. What could this indicate about her temperament ...

(6 months) Freya is pretty choosey about who she will go to. We thought this choosiness has to do with familiarity. However, when she came to Bangalore, Freya easily and repeatedly went to a totally unknow neighbor called Mahalakshmi. What did Mahalakshmi have that others (including me) did not have? What could this indicate about her temperament ...

(8 months) When the movers and packers were packing things in Bangalore, they used a lot of tape to stick the boxes. Freya just could not stand the noise. Every time a fresh piece of tape was ripped from the tape, some fresh shrieks and fresh tears would come to Freya's eyes. (Four years later, she is still afraid of bombs. Afraid is an understatement actually, mortified is more apt). What could this indicate about her temperament ...

(4 years) Freya still doesn't binge on sweets. She takes these in moderate quantities at best - like half a ladoo at a time (she cannot even tolerate a little extra sugar in her chocolate milk). She also does not like her name to be "spoilt". Try calling her Freya-Teya or Froyo or Freeyou and she will immediately retort - Double Kutti, Full Stop. She is hesitant to try new activities, especially those which may impact her sense of preservation. So doing the following things for the first time requires a lot of coaxing - burning fuljhadis, touching or petting dogs, cows and goats (cats are fine though ... given their size), jumping from the fifth step (she has been jumping from four steps). Even in general, her sense of preservation is very high and she calculates very carefully before trying out any new activity. What could this indicate about her temperament ...
